Level: Retro 3D Shooter
Made By: MooseOfSpades
Creativity: the author uses a special art technique where a horizon line is used along with a focal point to create a 3-D effect which works quite well with the techno effects of the level. the ship is quite clunky to fly and I found it confusing as to why I died, but the idea behind this level takes from classic arcade games and that is just fine.
Dimensions: The dimensional use is OK, it isn't true 3-D but the author admits to it and the way he made it try to be 3-D was quite inventive. As i said earlier the author uses the horizon line with the focal point to create radial lines, but he also uses the layer in front of that to make it seem like the ship is moving into the screen.
Lighting: Globally the lighting is dark, but that is only to make the level feel more spacey. The lighting in this level also consists of the V.R. training background from the Metal Gear pack. this material gives the level a more retro and wire frame feeling just like that tank game of which I don't know the name off the top of my head.
Sounds: The audio tack is somewhat techno like and the sound emitters come from the shooting which could have been done better, but it is still better than some of the levels seen in the lbp universe.
Re-playability: I have a feeling this is a score attack level, but after my 5th play-through I am still unsure. this level is fun and entertaining and I am aware he has a second level out that has a better look to it and slightly easier to control.
In all i will give the first level a 7 out of 10 because of its clunky controls.
