Swinging Silhouette Author Commentary

Swinging Silhouette Behind the Scenes and Author Commentary

menos_grande: How did you to come up with a game idea like Swinging Silhouette?
anpostteller: One of the first levels I played in LBP was Sackhouette, it was getting a lot of attention at the time and people were really into the whole silhouette thing.. So basically I thought making one was a good way to get noticed lol. Then games, like locoroco inspired the visual styles and I made the game play revolve around swinging because I wanted alliteration in the level name xD

menos_grande: Did you have help with the making of level from any of your friends or family, maybe someone you want to give thanks to?
anpostteller: No, I never liked getting help, always wanted it to be 100% mine, good, bad, cant really explain why. I'd like to thank everyone that play tested it though.

menos_grande: From start to finish how long did it take you to make the level, and how many tries at making the level did you have to do before you got it right?
anposteller: I couldn't tell you exactly, it takes me ages to make anything. Swinging Silhouette took me few months, and that doesn't include the version i lost. Like i said before, like I said Sackhouette inspired me to make a silhouetted level back when i bought the game, it was the first level i attempted to make and I was really happy with how it turned out. But around half way in, my ps3 broke down and i lost everything, I was gutted and didn't have the drive to start over until more recently. So when my first published level, Post-apocalyptic, was well received I decided to have another go at it... Sadly after all the buzz about silhouetted levels had died down, haha

menos_grande: What was the hardest part of making the level for you?
anposteller: Levels like these are very easy to make, there really isn't a lot of skill involved, so there really wasn't anything I could say that was really difficult. Sticking down hundreds of spikes throughout the level was probably the hardest bit, but more mentally than physically lol.

menos_grande: besides yours what is your favorite level to date on little big planet?
anposteller: its always changing, but at the moment (and its been this way for a long time) it's steve's Sky Factory. Game play wise, story wise, visually... Everything is just stunning, I have played it countless times and it never gets old.

menos_grande: Is there any chance of seeing Swinging Silhouette 2, and if so when do you expect to have it completed?
anposteller: Well you already have the pics of the re-imagined Swinging Silhouette (Which looks terrible because lighting doesn't show up in LBP pictures xD) so I don't really have anything to say. As for a release date... That's pushing it considering I might not even finish, but if i do it won't be for a few months :]

menos_grande: Is there anything you would like to add that you feel I missed?
anposteller: Nope :]

A sneak peek at Swinging Silhouette Re-Imagined
anposteller has allowed me to look at a Re-Imagining of Swinging Silhouette still in the works, and all I can say is wow.
